If you have heard of the Junior League of Portland but you don't really know what they do, let me fill you in. The misssion of the Junior League of Portland is to devlop the potential of women, improve our community, promote volunteerism and work in positive youth development in greater Portland.

Come support Maine's oldest and largest non-profit organization by joining them at The Junior League of Portland's 12th Annual Gala Friday, March 6th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Cellardoor Winery at Thompson's Point in Portland.

The event will be emceed by our current Miss Maine, Carolyn Brady, there will be a great live band and remarks from Junior League's President, Eliza Warren Giberson.

The League has had a hand in creating many legacy organizations that enrich our community, such as: The Portland Museum of Art, foundational cardiac and occupational therapy clinics at Maine Medical Center, the Children's Museum and Children's Theatre of Maine and the Center for Grieving Children among many others.

The Junior League is made up of strong women well-equipped to take on the challenges of today that include domestic violence, food insecurity, child abuse, historic preservation, sex trafficking and the arts among others.
