The Truth About Cage-Free and Hormone-Free Turkeys!

We are all such suckers. Many of us have paid more money for those bright labels of "Cage-Free" and "Hormone Free" stickers on our turkeys. It turns out that it's all a big marketing ploy! There is such a thing as a cage-free chicken, but not turkeys. Every single turkey raised on a farm in America has been raised cage-free! Companies get you to pony up some extra change with those magic words that make us feel just a little bit better about the life of the bird we are about to eat. And that "young" turkey label? They are all young! Now about the whole "hormone-free" thing. I look for it too, BUT, it's illegal to use hormones on turkeys in the U.S., so once again we are duped!
