When dialing a 1-800 number on the back of your government issued EBT card, the last thing you'd expect to hear the other end would be an alluring female voice asking you provocative questions. But that's exactly what happened to L.J. Langelier last week.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Langelier is just one of several EBT card users in Maine who have a misprinted phone number on their card that leads directly to a phone sex line versus the help line it is supposed to. The misprinted number is just one digit off but that digit turned out to be very important.

Langelier was caught off guard initially when he called the 1-800 number so he hung up. But when he realized there may be an error, he documented it and shared it on Facebook. You can watch the video above.

The State of Maine has been aware of the error for some time and has been working to correct it. They call the cards with the misprinted number "defective" and say that all new cards issued by the state no longer contain the error. The state says that the phone sex line purposely planned their line to be one digit off in hopes of attracting business from people making a simple error. Unfortunately, Maine made it easier for them.
