In his latest thrilling episode, super-enthusiastic Maine photographer and video creator Jeremy Grant takes us up the coast to Rockland for the 43rd Annual Great Schooner Race.

With his series, Jeremy is on a mission to get us out and about in Maine and "discover something awesome." He has an infectious way of getting us fired up about all the unique and wicked cool things to see and do here in Vacationland.

Watch and see the crews have a wacky row boat race without the captains the night before the big one. Then, it's a dash to the Breakwater Lighthouse finish line for the schooners in pursuit of the victory cup!

What a wicked good time celebrating summer in Maine and our seafaring heritage.

Another great piece, Jeremy...thank you for taking us adventures that we might otherwise miss out on.

Here's more about the on-the-water July 4th festivities from Jeremy Grant.

"I had such an amazing time being a part of the 43rd Great Schooner Race!!! A few weeks ago I had an amazing chance to go out on the Victory Chimes and it was amazing! This time I was invited out by the The Schooner Heritage for the 43rd Annual Great Schooner Race! It was an incredible experience! I started out on a boat that took us out near Isleboro, where we cruised into a scene right out of a history book. We saw 14 stunning schooner all anchored in one cove. The sails were up, while the sun was sinking low. On that Fourth of July evening we watch as the crews from each ship got into all different types of boats and raced around the schooners. It was all in fun and for the honor of their schooners. As the sun sunk below the tree line, the boat was surrounded by four different firework shows. It was truly spectacular! (I didn't film the fire works, I took it in and enjoyed them with my wife, who came with me. I know you will understand). In the morning we woke up to water like glass and a brillant reflection shot of all of the amazing ships! So stunning! We had breakfast and a quick captain's meeting. Then it was off to the big race! We were weaving around these massive ships, all racing to the Breakwater Lighthouse in Rockland!!!! A truly once in a life time experience! I want to say a big thank you again to The Schooner Heritage for inviting me out and Maine Windjammer Association for making it possible!! Also to an amazing sponsor for this video SunnieDog. Thank you so much for all you do!!! Until next time Go Discover Something Awesome!!
