Sorry you had to see that, but I want you to know what a tick looks like so that you can remove it the right way. After a thick blanket of snow this winter that insulated these yucky buggers, we can expect a fierce tick season. Ticks carry all kinds of nasty, including Lyme Disease. My sweet boy Stanley was receiving his evening worship, when I encountered a speed bump while petting him. After grossing out, I took a breath and knew I had to get it out. The longer they stay attached the better the chance that they can make it's host sick.  I haven't removed a tick in a long time and there are wrong ways of doing it, so I went to my pal YouTube and found this video. It helped!

To repel Ticks you can use DEET, but that's pretty serious stuff. If you want to go the natural route, it turns out that like me, ticks can not stand the smell of lavender. Dab some lavender oil all over, from head to toe. Check your kids, pets, yourself and clothes after spending time outside.

And now, to make up for the disgusting picture of the tick, I am including an episode of my very, very favorite cartoon, "The Tick"!

I'm not a bunny, I'm a moth!
