Since before we even got engaged, Mark and I had planned on starting our family together with a Samoyed. These beautiful Siberian dogs were not only hardy sled dogs and used to herd reindeer by the Samoyed people, but they were also family companions who would sleep with the children and keep them warm at night. They are sweet, loving, and very talkative! I grew up with them as family pets and showed them at dog shows when I was a kid. Now our girl is getting older. Shayla has Alopecia X, hyperthyroidism and a torn ACL that can't be operated on. She can no longer walk up the 4 steps into our house so we have been carrying her in for months. Yesterday Mark and my brother Billy built her a very fancy ramp, complete with carpeting for added traction.

What have you done to keep your sick or aging pet as comfortable as you can? I know that Blimpville is filled with kind hearted pet lovers. Comment on our Fan Page or tweet #anythingformybaby

I kiss my dog.
