31 years ago today, Whitesnake rocked us in Portland at the Civic Center on their on Liquor & Poker World Tour in support of their album, Slip of the Tongue.

The incredible howl of David Coverdale and this amazing band struck the nearly capacity crowd on February 6, 1990 with stinging rock 'n roll power.

This mind-blowing crew featured Tommy Aldridge on drums, Rudy Sarzo on bass, Adrian Vandenberg on guitar, and the incredible guitar pyrotechnics from new member Steve Vai, formerly of the David Lee Roth band.

They likely left everyone in attendance with sonic-fang bitemarks.

We also remember hosting a WBLM live broadcast at Daddy’s Junky Music on Brighton Avenue on the afternoon of the show.

Bassist Rudy Sarzo and guitarist Adrian Vandenberg graciously stopped by to meet Blimpsters, sign some stuff and say hello on the radio. They were great guys who took their time with every fan.

Here's what they played on this date in 1990.

Whitesnake has been very good to Blimpville over the years. We count 9 Maine appearances from 1987 to 2018.

Watch this phenomenal live performance from 31 years ago at the Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donnington, UK.
