Blimp Time-Hop: Whitesnake Strikes the Civic Center

29 years ago, Whitesnake rocked us in Portland at the Civic Center on their on Liquor & Poker World Tour in support of their album, Slip of the Tongue.

The incredible howl of David Coverdale and this amazing band struck the nearly capacity crowd and left everyone in attendance with a mark.

Steve Vai (formerly of the David Lee Roth band) brought his incredible guitar pyrotechnics to the stage with our headliners!

We also remember hosting a WBLM live broadcast at Daddy’s Junky Music on Brighton Avenue on the afternoon of the show.

Bassist Rudy Sarzo and guitarist Adrian Vandenberg graciously stopped by to meet Blimpsters and say hello on the radio. Great guys!
