Guns N’ Roses played their first show of 2019 last night with an intimate (by their standards) concert at Hollywood's 4,000 seat Hollywood Palladium.

The 23-song set was the band’s first since Dec. 8, 2018, when they delivered a show lasting more than three hours during a stop in Honolulu.

With frontman Axl Rose sporting a new and slightly shorter haircut, the band played previously-visited covers "Live and Let Die," "Slither" and "Attitude" among a selection of their own songs, with Appetite for Destruction tracks slightly outnumbering those chosen from the Use Your Illusion albums.

Unsurprisingly, tickets, which were made available to randomly selected Citi Card holders and members of the band's fan club, sold out in minutes.

The venue is approximately three miles away from the Sunset Strip, an area which Guns N' Roses helped make famous (and notorious) in the '80s. The band will return to more typical sized venues when their 2019 tour kicks off in earnest at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. this Wednesday.

They will perform two shows at another relatively small-scale venue, the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, to close their 2019 trek in November. Stops at the Louder Than Life, Austin City Limits and Voodoo festivals highlight the group’s plans between now and then. Guns N’ Roses – ‘Welcome to the Jungle’

Officially, these dates are still part of the Not In This Lifetime... tour, a trek the band began in 2016. Since reuniting, talk of a new Guns N' Roses album has continued to circulate, with band members Slash and Duff McKagan among those confirming at various points that a new LP is in the works. Still, the group has yet to unveil new material, shooting down rumors earlier this month that they'd contributed music to the upcoming Terminator film.
