According to WMTW, many of us are experiencing dry, cracked hands from all of the scrubbing and alcohol-filled hand sanitizers that we're using to battle off COVID-19.

There are a few ways you can take care of your hands while taking care of business:

  • Keep moisturizers handy at home and at work. I put cocoa butter lotion on my hands every night before bed and it has really helped.
  • Choose natural and non-irritating soaps. It's not necessarry to use anti-bacterial soaps to kill germs. Sing happy birthday twice using any soap with warm water and you can call it good. Soaps the contain aloe vera, olive oil and coconut oil will help to keep your hands soft and moisturized.
  • Avoid artificially fragranced soaps.
  • Wear gloves while you are cleaning the house or washing dishes. June Cleaver had it right, that barrier will protect your hands from harsh cleaners and hot, soapy water.

We can't avoid all the hand washing right now, but cracked, irritated skin will make you even more uncomfortable. Baby your paws and take a moment to massage your hands while you're at it. Every little bit helps.
