A terrible flu has swept through my kids' school. There were so many kids out of school with high fevers, and now they are hanging out over their April vacation break. Parents have fingers crossed that the poor kids won't pass it around again! To avoid getting sick I looked up how doctors and nurses properly wash their hands. It's a few extra steps, but it kills almost twice as much bacteria!

  • Start off by washing your hands with soap and water as you usually do.
  • Take it to the next level by interlocking your fingers and scrubbing.
  • Use the fingers of each hand to scrub the other and make sure that you are also going over the top of your hands.
  • Use the palms of your hands to scrub the back of your fingers.
  • Then go to town scrubbing the webbing between your thumbs.
  • Lastly, scrub your palms using your fingertips, and rinse the soap and germs away.

We had 7 kids over for a playdate yesterday, and there was a whole lot of hand washing going on!

Stay healthy!
