Portland has a well known reputation for amazing restaurants, bars and shops. But if you look a little harder, you'll find that Portland also offers some very unique places, including the International Cryptozoology Museum. Yes, you read that right.

If you're getting ready to Google what cryptozoology is, let us save you the trouble. It's the study of "hidden animals" that have appeared throughout folklore, including Bigfoot and Chupacabra. According to the International Cryptozoology Museum, they are the only museum that celebrates this study and they're located right here in Portland, Maine.

The museum is currently located at 11 Avon Street right by the State Theater, but their website promises a move in the spring to the Thompson's Point complex. They are a year round museum, closing their doors on Tuesdays only.

Some of their exhibits include actual Yeti hair, a sasquatch baby doll and a creepy mermaid prop. Check out some of the exhibits here courtesy of their Facebook page.

Admission to the museum is $10 for adults. Children 12 and under is only $5 and seniors get in for $8. The two questions are this, do you believe? And are you planning on making a visit to the ONLY International Cryptozoology Museum on Planet Earth?
