We've seen some crazy summer weather in the past week in Maine. Severe thunderstorms that knocked out power to thousands of Mainers. Even a tornado in Hiram. It's good to be on high alert, especially as more of us are outside and on the water this time of year. Our friends at the National Weather Service in Gray have sent us this model for thunderstorms and their timing for this afternoon:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, especially from 1 pm to 7pm. The main threats will be locally damaging winds and heavy rainfall which may lead to flooding. Please report any significant weather when safe to do so.

Did you hear about the tornado in Hiram over the weekend?

And just to add even more weather at you, we are kicking into hurricane season. It's already been pretty active and we are only at the start of the season

Let's be careful out there this afternoon.
