The Maine Academy of Modern Music is basically Maine's "School of Rock." The organization has become of the fastest-growing and most successful nonprofits in Maine. And one of the coolest things about MAMM is that huge amount of girls take part in the numerous camps, bands, lessons, and programs. This weekend the ladies take over downtown Portland with the Girls Rock Weekend.

From our friends at MAMM:

Each March as part of Women's History Month, the Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) hosts its annual Girls Rock! event—a celebration of girls' involvement in music. The 2020 Girls Rock! weekend will include a First Friday "Rock Walk" in partnership with a number of local music venues and musicians as well as MAMM's student concert on Saturday at Port City Music Hall.
