Maine Brew Bus Tour With the BLM Crew! [PICS]
The Townsquare Media Portland crew recently took it to the streets with the Maine Brew Bus. Don and Aaron were charming hosts, and plied us with humor, information and beer, cider and mead!
We entered the roomy, clean bus to find classic lunch boxes waiting for us. Mark and I got a Power Rangers lunch box!
OOh, what goodies await? Water to keep hydrated and snacks to go with our drinks!
First stop is Freeport's Maine Beer Company where we enjoyed a flight of delicious beers! Yes, those beers are actually called lunch and dinner. I picked up 4 bottles of liquid dinner!
We hung out in the sunshine and enjoyed the tasting.
Mark really loved the flight!
Back to the bus for a tasty treat, hand pies from Ten Ten Pie! My friend Rob from CYY was afraid I was going to take his. He almost bit me! These were so delicious, you have to try them, seriously.
Next stop was Maine Mead Works, bright and sunny with a horseshoe bar.
The Ginger Mead was a huge hit. We went home with a bottle of that and a bottle of Lavender Lemonade! The mead was refreshing and light and a perfect drink to enjoy on the patio after work.
Here's Rob again, this time taking on a ten dollar bet to drink from the King's cup. D.J.'s will do anything for money.
Don and Aaron continued our tour of Portland's "Yeast Side" with a stop at Rising Tide Brewing. The parking lot was a scene! There were games going on, dogs enjoying the sun and owners enjoying cold, cold beer!
This place is spotless and shiny and I will never complain about having to clean my kitchen again!
Thank you to The Maine Brew Bus for showing us such a great time. They were truly great hosts and we enjoyed every stop! The lunchboxes and hand pies were genius too! Keep The Maine Brew Bus in mind this summer for a terrific Maine adventure!
