You have to hand it to Maine's craft beer industry. As the years go by, it just continues to roll on like an absolute boss.

As of this publishing, there are over 100 breweries in the state. In 2024, Maine had the second-highest brewery per capita number (14.3) in the country. That's pretty good for the Pine Tree State.

Maine is Loaded with Delicious Craft Breweries

And now that Maine is an international brand, more tourists continue to roll in. It's just more great news for an industry whose economic impact is similar to a small principality.

We spend massive amounts of time discussing and dissecting every little aspect about the Maine beer scene. Whether it's Portland, the surrounding area, Bar Harbor, or the Midcoast, the touristy areas of Maine are well-covered. Honestly, there's a good chance at least one brewery is withing 20 miles of every location in Maine. I have no idea if this is true, but it sounds good, doesn't it?

I decided to take a look at Portland' breweries. Lord knows there's enough of them. Maine's largest city has a diverse group that include both young and old, large and micro.
