Maine’s Leap Year City, Smithfield!

Happy 43rd Birthday Smithfield, Maine! Smithfield was incorporated on a Leap Day 176 years ago. According to the Portland Press Herald, the town is proposing a yearly celebration at their annual Town Meeting in March. Tonight will be Smithfield's first Leap Year Social. Join the locals over at the Fairview Grange at 6:30 for coffee, desserts and socializing.
