Portland, Maine’s Soccer Scene is About to Level Up with a Visit from the Famed Soccer Bus
It’s been quite the inaugural season for Maine’s newest sports franchise, the Portland Hearts of Pine.
The upstart soccer team has played in front of sellout crowds, currently holds a playoff position, received a shoutout from Tom Morello, and even counts Patrick Dempsey among its famous fans.
Portland Hearts of Pine Have Been a Huge Success on and off the Field
Game days have been a perfect mix of joyful rowdiness, positive energy, delicious local food trucks, craft beverages, and, most importantly—wins. To say the fanbase has been satisfied is an understatement.
But the fun doesn’t stop at Fitzpatrick Stadium. A special treat is coming for the next home game.
The world-famous Soccer Bus is making its way to Portland for the Hearts’ international friendly against Canada’s Halifax Wanderers FC.
The Soccer Bus is essentially a mobile soccer museum. It celebrates the history of soccer in America with a rich collection of memorabilia, stories, gear, and more.
Hearts of Pine Fans Will Get a Chance to Experience American Soccer History
Operated by soccer media company Club Eleven, the Soccer Bus helps them connect with fans, share the incredible story of the sport’s rise in the U.S. and North America, and promote the game they love.
It’s also tied closely to their magazine, The Soccer Odyssey—a 177-page deep dive into the best of American soccer history.
This interactive exhibit has been touring major soccer cities across the country, and now it’s coming to Fitzpatrick Stadium.
That says a lot about how far soccer has come here in Maine. This isn’t a bus that stops at every stadium in America. Club Eleven clearly recognizes the impressive growth of soccer in Portland and its surrounding communities.
