We love southern rock here in Blimpville. That's why we are wicked pumped to announce and incredible night of celebration coming to Maine this summer.

It's the Spirit of the South tour featuring Blackberry Smoke (pictured below) and The Allman Betts Band (pictured above that's Dickey Betts son Duane on the left and Gregg Allman's son Devon on the right).

The Allman Betts Band also includes Berry Oakley Jr. He is the son of original Allman Brothers bass player, Berry Oakley. And as if that wasn't enough to keep it genuine, founding member Jaimoe is in the band too. Jaimoe and Dickey Betts are the only surviving original members from the Allman Brothers Band.

The family musical tradition continues on and comes to the Maine Savings Pavilion at Rock Row in Westbrook on Friday, July 24. That's right a Friday Night of Southern Rock, so excuses on this one. Let's freakin' party, people

Here's a beautiful Blue Sky from the first Allman Betts Band show last year.

Blackberry Smoke explains what's in store for us when the show comes to town in this next video. They tell us that after sets from each band, there'll be a huge jam with all the musicians playing classics from the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers and more. Count us in!
