The Skowhegan State Fair, the longest consecutively running fair in the entire United States of America, is set to open its doors to the public once again on Thursday, August 12th.
Of course we'll miss being able to pet the farm animals and we'll miss all the wonderful aromas from the food vendors. However, it is very cool that the organizers at MOFGA put this together for us so we can experience this incredible Maine event on our laptops.
We Mainers all have our own cherished memories of the yearly traditions of going to the fair. That's why it's likely that many of us are bummed that it's not going to happen in 2020. One of our favorite local bands feels the same way.
The thing that's really surprising is that fair season in Maine actually starts next week in Monmouth. And, how bout this? There are over 20 fairs to choose from!
