At this time of year more donations are needed for food banks. All donations are appreciated, but here is a list of what food banks need the most:

  • Canned protein, like chicken, tuna and salmon.
  • Mixed nuts are high protein and kind of pricey. If you find them on sale keep your local food bank in mind!
  • Juice boxes, 100% juice is of course the best choice.
  • Rice, beans, couscous, quinoa and other grains.
  • Cereal and oatmeal.
  • Cooking oils, especially canola and olive oil.
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables.
  • Canned soups and stews.
  • Whole grain pasta.
  • Holiday foods, like instant stuffing, cranberry sauce and canned pumpkin.

The best thing to do is to call your local food pantry to see if they have any specific needs that you can help with. Non-food items are always needed as well!

Stuff that bus!
