Yep. That wind on Monument Square here in Portland was blowing something fierce up to around 40 mph.

But those gusts we had here in the big city were nothing compared to the incredible intensity on Mt. Washington Wednesday.

According to a post on the Mount Washington Observatory Facebook page,

"It's been the windiest day of the winter season today with a peak gust of 133 mph!"

So what do they do when the winds are blowing at these insane speeds? Well, send an intern into the belly of the beast of course.
