According to YAHOO!, Maine businesses may suffer from  backlash because of Senator Susan Collins' recent vote to back the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh was accused of sexual misconduct. Now Maine is facing boycotts on our two top money makers, lobster and tourism.

The Maine lobster industry has just suffered a huge hit because of punitive tariffs from China as a result of our trade war, any backlash would deepen the wound.

The idea to boycott Maine products started when actor/comedian, John  Fugelsang suggested it to his 43,000 Twitter followers. Fugelsang has backtracked and claimed to be joking, but the idea struck a nerve and Maine lobster companies are hearing about it as citizens protest Sen. Collins vote and speech supporting Kavanaugh.
