Beer Fest Celebrating Women in the Beer Industry is Happening in Portland, Maine in April
Maine Beer
Maine beer culture is unmatched. In fact, Portland has the most breweries per capita than anywhere else in the country.
Industrial Way is home to a handful of breweries perfect for an afternoon brewery crawl. In the summertime, it's not unusual to stumble upon a food truck or two and live entertainment. Not to mention many breweries are kid and dog friendly.
Want to drink in a field by a pond? Oxbow in Newcastle has got you.
Want to enjoy a flight in a hanger? Flight Deck in Brunswick is for you.
When many people think about the beer industry, men come to mind but there are a ton of talented women who brew, manage, and own these establishments. The 5th annual Beers With(out) Beards celebrates women in beer.
Beers With(out) Beards
What began as Grace Weitz's graduate school thesis capstone project grew to an annual event with thousands of guests celebrating more than 60 women-led breweries. The pandemic put the in-person event on pause but they are back this year at Brick South at Thompson's Point in Portland.
The participating breweries do not disappoint and include local favorites such as Rising Tide, Allagash, Bissell Brothers, Liquid Riot, Nonsuch, and more! See all the participating breweries here.
