Blimp Time-Hop: Billy Joel Sold-out at CCCC Again

32 years ago, Billy Joel returned to the Civic Center here in Portland for the third time and a third sold-out show.  On January 30, 1987, Billy came back to Blimpville in support of his latest album The Bridge featuring his Top 10 hit Matter of Trust. 

This was just prior to his historic concerts in Russia that summer. 

We were also fortunate to have him back in Maine two more times after that in September of ’93 and January of ’98. The ’98 show happened while we were still reeling from the devastating effects of the Ice Storm. I guess a lil’ weathah can’t keep us away from the Piano Man. Both those shows were sell-outs as well.
