32 years ago today, Heart played the Civic Center. On June 26, 1987 Ann & Nancy the lovely Wilson sisters, returned to Portland for the 6th time.

After moving to their new label Capitol Records in 1985, they released the album Heart. This was the album that put them back on top, going #1 and selling five million copies.

The follow-up album Bad Animals was released in May of ’87 and went all the way to number 2. Whitney Houston’s, Whitney kept Heart out of the top spot. The new power ballad Alone was in heavy rotation on the Blimp by the time they arrived at the CCCC. Heart’s Bad Animals went on to sell over 3 million copies in the US.

Watch Alone performed live in Hollywood, Florida in December of 1987. This was way way before cellphone recording. So, major props to the person who risked having their expensive video camera confiscated to get this awesome footage!

The show here in Portland was the first night of the Bad Animals tour. There isn't a setlist published for it, but we're pretty confident it looked like this one from the next night in Hartford.

Heart speaks! Check out this interview gem from a German TV show in 1987.

Opening the show that night was Tom Kimmel with his big song on the Blimp in '87, That's Freedom. Great song!
