Do you know someone who has impacted the local community? Are they part of a local charity? Do they volunteer? Did they offer a random act of kindness?

WBLM wants to shine a light on local heroes and recognize all that they do.

And our January 2020 local hero is De’Angelo Alston!

De’Angelo Alston, who was nominated by Aaron Davis, not only runs an organization to benefit youth sports in southern Maine (TGK), he also volunteers at Power School in Westbrook teaching even more kids the power of hard work.

You are truly a local hero, De'Angelo.

We want to keep it going! It's time to nominate someone else for WBLM's Local Hero.

Here's what you have to do.

In the form below, nominate that person that you believe deserves some appreciation for all that they do and tell us why you think they are worthy of the honor of being called a Local Hero.

If they are selected, they will receive a $100 gift card to J’s Oyster in Portland, Maine.

We will be randomly picking one winner each month from January through May.

And at the end of May, those five Local Heroes will be invited to a mid-week, private lunch with up to three guests, including the person who nominated them, to celebrate. The food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by J’s Oyster.

What better way to congratulate and recognize our local heroes?

So don't wait. Nominate that person you know who deserves this award now!

Contest ends May 10, 2020.
