Local Heroes

This is the stuff that always gets us right in the feels. When we see an elderly hero being recognized and celebrated on such an amazing milestone by the community, it just makes our hearts swell wicked big.

Let's use the powerful size of the our audience (you guys) and make this a celebration that will fill him with lots of love from all over Blimpville.

Sammey wants to do something incredible touching for her great grandfather who will be turning 98 in November. His name is George "Skip" McGahey and he is an American hero who "completed 29 air combat missions as a gunner over Germany during World War II."

WBLM wants to shine a light on local heroes and recognize all that they do.

Do you know someone who has impacted the local community? Are they part of a local charity? Do they volunteer? Did they offer a random act of kindness?

May is ALS Awareness Month. In honor of that, your friends at WBLM would like to share with you this short, touching video from a lifelong Blimpster who was recently recognized as an ALS Association hero in Arizona. His name is Noel LeVasseur and he's not only a friend of the Blimp's, he's also one of my Augusta pals since childhood.
