It's the most famous show in Portland's history and it never even happened. The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley was supposed to play the Cumberland County Civic Center on this date in 1977. Tickets were 15 bucks, twice as much as any other band or artist was getting back then. But it was ELVIS. And the show was long sold out. Of course, Elvis died the day before at his home at Graceland.
