Pro hockey with the Mariners. Pro baseball with the Sea Dogs. Pro basketball with the Red Claws. Portland has it all when it comes to sports. ALMOST. We need a PRO SOCCER TEAM and some local soccer fans are trying to make that happen.

An ownership group, headed by former Falmouth High and All-American Dartmouth College player Gabe Hoffman-Johnson, is looking for a USL League One team to start in 2022. The ownership group has the funding and Portland certainly has the interest and support to bring a pro soccer team to town. In fact, a fan group "USL to Portland Supporters" is holding a Town Hall Meeting tonite (September 21) and YOU ARE INVITED.

Form the USL to Portland Supporters Facebook Page:

"Join us for a Virtual Town Hall on Monday, September 21, to discuss the ongoing efforts to bring a pro soccer team to Portland! We'll be joined by Gabe Hoffman-Johnson, co-owner of USL to Portland, former MLS pro-Roger Levesque, and our host, NESN's Tom Caron. We're so close to having a team of our own, and this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of our independent supporters' group. RSVP here and share the event far and wide!"

Here's your chance to find out about the prospect of team coming to Portland.
