Our dear friend Mr, Bob Marley is the King of Maine. And as King, we believe that he should rarely travel anywhere outside of his kingdom here in New England. He is a treasure that should be protected at all costs! We recently saw that Bobby was in South Carolina visiting some friends. Now, the situation down in the South is that everyone seems and talks REALLY friendly. Much more so than up here. And I think all that friendliness is kinda freaking Bob Marley out.
Our great friend Bob Marley had us absolutely rolling in the studios today when we saw this video of him talking about the Jeff Bezos trip to "outta space" Now, Bobby makes fun of everybody (including us) so don't get all upset if you're a big Bezos or Amazon fan. Bob made some good points in this short video. It's 4 minutes or so....about the length of the entire Bezos flight!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! We can't pack the pubs (again) this year so instead, we're bringing some Irish right to your screen. And if you want to talk New England on St. Patrick's Day you better mention Connor and Murphy MacManus, the two Irish brothers from Boston who bring vigilante justice in the movie "Boondock Saints." The 1999 flick is a cult classic and has become one of the most beloved "Irish" movies of all time. it also stars one of our favorite Mainers, Mr. Bob Marley! The film only grossed about $35,000 when it played in theatres. But no worries, because the film went on to gross over 50 million dollars in video sales! A sequel came out in 2009 and Bobby is also in that one. In fact, he gets shot and killed (which is REALLY weird to watch), but comes back on hockey skates during a dream sequence. Fantastic!
History was made on September 23, 2010, in Portland, Maine as our dear friend Bob Marley broke the Guinness World Record for doing continuous stand-up comedy. The place was the Comedy Connection, which was Bob's HQ at the time. He broke the old record of 38 hours and then KEPT GOING until he hit 40 hours!
Did you ever wonder what it's like backstage at big shows? You know, with bands and big stars like comedian Bob Marley. It's gotta be nuts right. Crazy spreads of food, booze, groupies, and the general mayhem that is cultivated in rock and roll, right?
It's A to Z time again on the Blimp! Our annual trip through the Blimp Archives. Now, since we save EVERYTHING, much of the archive is in the Blimp Basement in One City Center. We found this old video going through the archives today and it's a classic. Watch Tommy C, the Guru and the Captain (with a sweet Celeste cameo) and their dramatic chase through the depths of One City Center to find our good friend Bob Marley. And it's Bobby as you've never seen him before. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you ARCHIVES OF DARKNESS...
