Another big summer tour has been cancelled "due to the global coronavirus outbreak". Dead & Company made the announcement on social media yesterday afternoon (April 21).

Their 17 date 2020 trek scheduled to start with two shows on July 10 and 11 in Boulder, Colorado and to finish with two shows at Fenway Park in Boston, MA on August 7 and 8, won't be happening.

The band explained their decision saying:

"The well-being and safety of the Deadhead community, venue workers and our touring family is of the utmost importance to us."

The band also assured fans of full refunds:

"We also want to provide you, the fans who’ve been hit hard financially during this difficult time with your money back. All tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase."

While we totally understand, it is definitely a bummer. We are sure that our Northeast Deadheads were looking forward to the healing power of a live music experience with Bobby Weir, John Mayer, Mickey Hart, Billy Kreutzman, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti at our beloved Fenway Park this summer.

When it's safe to poke around on Shakedown Street again someday, you know we will.

Here's the official message posted on Facebook.
