Travis Mills Hosts Annual Maine Vietnam Era Veterans Breakfast That Left Me Speechless

This week the Augusta Civic Center was the venue for a breakfast event organized by The Travis Mills Foundation to honor Vietnam-era veterans this coincided with National Vietnam War Veteran Day.

It was an event filled with honor and gratitude, memories, loss, and love. At least that's the impact the event had on ffected me. When I walked in, I couldn't help but feel the intense energy from all who took up arms and fought for our country.

It was powerful to say the least. This was the 4th annual Vietnam-Era Breakfast and it has grown so big that a change of venue took place. They needed more room so it was hosted at the civic center and housed over 600 bodies. Approximately 300 of which that are Vietnam Vets.

Travis Mills was being interviewed by WABI as I walked through the room and heard him remark that these men have so many similarities to him, despite the years in between. War is war.

Travis told WABI, that the breakfast serves as a way to properly thank the Veterans for their service.

The general appreciation from this particular population of people is enormous.

As everyone enjoyed their breakfast, The Volunteers Jazz Band played tunes. This band entertains and honors those who have served.

It was a morning to celebrate those brave people who gave us freedom. I could hear the battles stories being shared amongst their brothers. This wasn't just a breakfast, it was a way to share gratitude.
