We make some pretty snap decisions about other people, we do it subconsciously so don't beat yourself up about it. According to Business Insider, there are four things that we think we learn about another person within the first minute of meeting them.

We pretty much cover all of the important stuff.

  • Whether or not they can trust you, just by looking at your face.
  • How intelligent you are. BTW, other people will read you as being smarter if you look them in the eye when speaking to them.
  • Whether or not you sleep around. A study showed that people with visible tattoos,(especially women), are perceived to be more promiscuous and to drink a lot.
  • How adventurous you are. They need to see you walk first. A study found that you will be perceived as more of a risk taker if you swing your arms and look relaxed. It only takes a few steps for people to make up their mind about how extroverted you are.

That's a lot of assuming within the first 60 seconds of seeing someone! Have you caught yourself forming an opinion of someone immediately? How often are your instincts right? Comment on our fan Page, or tweet #60secondsareup

I'm working on my walk now.
