It's time once again to cover the dining room table with newspaper set down a beautiful pumpkin and start cutting it into a work of art.

Of course, it's always a wicked fun time doing this Halloween tradition with kids.

Except, it's also wicked messy with all those pumpkin guts strewn all over the place.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a place to make this giant creative mess and not have to wreck the dining room?

Well, there is. This Friday from 4p to 6p, Congress Square Arts would love for you and the family to join them at this year's Pumpkins In The Square at Congress Square Park in Portland.

It'll be actually like a little festival with music, donuts, warm cider, games and other cool autumn arts and crafts. The celebration is free with a suggested donation.

There will be pumpkins available for sale or you can bring your own along.

Once you get that jack o' lantern all carved up and looking great, bring it to your home with no mushy pumpkin innards to slip on.
